Joanne Sienko Ott, CFA, MA has experience across multiple disciplines: behavioral finance, integrative health, and policy/advocacy expertise.
Joanne has over 15 years' experience in the finance field that includes banking, trust investments, and institutional investment management. She competed the Chartered Financial Analyst accreditation and went to work for the pioneering behavioral finance firm - Fuller & Thaler Asset Management in San Francisco. As a founding employee of the firm, she performed fundamental research and due diligence for both the growth and value strategies. She also helped research and back-test an enhanced index strategy. Joanne helped grow assets to over $1 billion during her tenure and had the privilege to work alongside Richard Thaler, a renowned behavioral finance professor from the University of Chicago.
Joanne began her career in integrative health with studying various mind-body therapies at a holistic health center in Brazil. She completed a Masters of Arts in Holistic Health Studies at St. Catherine University. She has worked for several leadership organizations in the integrative health field, such as the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine and Health (ACIMH), a collaboration of +60 premier academic centers across the U.S. whose aim is to transform curriculum and policy towards integrative medicine. She has collaborated on initiatives with the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM) and the Integrative Health Policy Consortium (IHPC) to engage membership and advocacy. Joanne has worked on grass-roots policy in Minnesota and she was instrumental in engaging stakeholders (legislators, practitioner groups, committee members) in passing 2015 legislation favorable to integrative health. She has been a volunteer with the MN Fair Care legislation regarding non-discrimination issues for integrative health practices.
Joanne also serves as a board member for Spring Forest Qigong Institute that was founded by international healer, Master Chunyi Lin. Passionate about social impact, Joanne is part of the ImpactHub-MSP Impact Investing Advisory group focusing on a project to help develop the local impact investing eco-system. In addition, she helps to engage investment in community solar gardens with Cooperative Energy Futures.
Joanne is very passionate about growing the infrastructure for integrative health and technology. She views finance as a tool for the greater good of society. Joanne lives in Minnesota with her husband and two grown children with their dog Ella. She enjoys reconnecting in nature and exploring new things.
Joanne serves as finance advisor for the NuraHealth team.
